25 July 2012 Beaufine Stakes Fast Facts

  • The Beaufine Stakes was first run as a Listed event in 1990 and won by the Neville Parnham-trained and Peter Barnett-ridden Bovader.
  • It was the first of three Beaufine Stakes for Parnham following victories to Real Magic (1992) and Irish Pride (2003) who scored narrowly from Fair Alert.
  • Vern Brockman was also a three time winner of the feature sprint after preparing Lady Wild (2001) and Great Nation (2005-06) to victories.
  • Dual winners included George Daly, Wally Mitchell and Keith Jeffreys.
  • Daly prepared River Mist (2004) and Vizard (2008), Mitchell Winter Show (1991) and Real Mak (2007), while Jeffreys scored successive victories with Danzig Beau (1995-96).
  • Champion jockey Paul Harvey, with a quartet of winners, enjoys the best riding record.
  • Harvey has won aboard Bradson (1997), Willoughby (1999), Great Nation (2006) and Vizard (2008).
