08 August 2012 Champion filly Sensational Gabby Arrives Safely In Melbourne

Champion Western Australian filly Sensational Gabby has copped an awkward draw ahead of her interstate debut in the second semi-final of the Art Major Breeders Crown Series 14 (2240m) at Melton on Friday.

The Greg Schofield-trained Sensational Gabby, who arrived in Melbourne early on Wednesday morning, will step from barrier 11 for leading reinsman Chris Lewis.

The daughter of Yankee Sensation has dominated Western Australian racing with 21 superb victories from 23 starts including one second placing and is just shy of half-a-million dollars in stake earnings.

Sensational Gabby demolished her rivals in the WA Oaks earlier in May and stretched her unbeaten sequence to 12 when she defeated Madeline Holly by over five lengths at Pinjarra last Monday week.

Sensational Gabby will tackle Australian Oaks winner Shake It Mamma, drawn barrier eight for driver Chris Alford and Queensland filly The Archduchess, who will be driven from 12 by Chris Petroff.

The first six placegetters in each semi-final will qualify for the final of the Breeders Crown to be run at Melton on Sunday week.
