While Luckygray represents Western Australian thoroughbred interest at Caulfield on Saturday, it will be Sensational Gabby commanding local harness attention when she competes in the Group 1 Breeders Crown Final (2240m) at Melton on Sunday.
Sensational Gabby, a Yankee Sensation filly that is prepared by Greg Schofield, has accumulated a strike rate of 21 wins from her 24 starts including two minor placings and is rapidly approaching half-a-million dollars in stake earnings.
The outstanding bay is aiming for her fifth win at Group 1 level after earlier Gloucester Park victories in the WA Oaks (2506m), the 2YO Diamond Classic (1700m) and State Sire Series for both two and three-year-olds.
Sensational Gabby warmed up for her Breeders Crown challenge with a gallant second in last week's heat when she led before narrowly going down to Twist and Twirl who took the length of the straight to reel in the Western Australian champ.
Schofield said on Racing Radio that Sensational Gabby had pulled up extremely well from her first interstate run and her work since had been pleasing.
Sensational Gabby, to be driven by champion reinsman Chris Lewis, will commence the Breeders Crown final from barrier five.
The race is set down for 3:48pm with full coverage on Racing Radio and Sky Channel.
