RWWA Stewards today inquired into a report from the Chem Centre in Perth, that aminocaproic acid has been detected in the post race urine sample taken from NEIGE after it had won Race 3 the Westspeed Stayers’ Bonus Handicap (2) at Belmont on Saturday 5 September 2009.
This finding has been verified by the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory in NSW.
Evidence was taken from Mr Sean Casey, Trainer of NEIGE, Mr Casey’s Veterinary Surgeon, Racing Chem Centre Manager Mr Charles Russo, RWWA Veterinarian Dr Judith Medd and RWWA Investigator Mr Geoff Johnson.
The inquiry was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed. The reason for this adjournment is to allow further witnesses to be called.
JOHN A. ZUCAL
RWWA Chairman of Stewards
