
RWWA Harness Stewards yesterday concluded the inquiry into a report received from the Racing Chemistry Laboratory (RCL) in Perth that the post-race urine sample taken from CADILLAC LAVROS after it had competed and won Race 3 the Kodj Kodjin Stakes over 2130m at Central Wheatbelt Racing Club (CWB) on Sunday, 9 September 2007 had phenylbutazone and oxyphenbutazone.
Evidence was taken from the trainer of CADILLAC LAVROS, Mr Dylan Quadrio, RWWA Industry Veterinarian Dr Peter Symons and Manager RCL Mr C. Russo.
Trainer Dylan Quadrio pleaded guilty to a charge under RWWA Harness Rule of Racing 190 (1) for presenting CADILLAC LAVROS to race at CWB on 9 September 2007 not free of the prohibited substances phenylbutazone and oxyphenbutazone.
In considering penalty Stewards took into account the following:
Trainer Dylan Quadrio was subsequently fined the sum of $5,000 for the breach of Rule 190(1)
Under the provisions of Australian Rule of Harness Racing 195 CADILLAC LAVROS was disqualified as winner of Race 3 the Kodj Kodjin Stakes over 2130m at Central Wheatbelt Racing Club (CWB) on Sunday, 9 September 2007 and the placings amended to:
