RWWA Stewards today concluded the inquiry into a report from the ChemCentre in Perth, that aminocaproic acid was detected in the post race urine sample taken from FLYING VILLAGE LORD NZ after it had won Race 5 the Perkins Building MS Pace (2100m) at Bunbury on Tuesday, 6 October 2009.

Further evidence was taken from Mr Jim Currie trainer of FLYING VILLAGE LORD NZ, Trainer/Driver Mr Shane Loone, Veterinarian Dr Kim Rose and RWWA Industry Veterinarian Dr Judith Medd.

Trainer Mr J. Currie pleaded guilty to a charge under HRR190(1) for presenting FLYING VILLAGE LORD NZ to race at Bunbury on Tuesday, 6 October 2009 not free of the prohibited substance aminocaproic acid.

Mr Currie was disqualified for a period of six (6) months effective immediately.

Further Mr Currie pleaded guilty to a charge under HRR187(2) for giving false evidence to the RWWA Investigator who was conducting official inquires into a ChemCentre report relating to the presence of aminocaproic acid in the post race urine sample taken from FLYING VILLAGE LORD NZ following the gelding’s win at Bunbury on Tuesday, 6 October 2009.

Mr Currie was disqualified for a period of four (4) months. Stewards directed that both disqualifications are to run concurrently.

FLYING VILLAGE LORD was disqualified from 1st place with the amended placings now reading:

1st OPEN CLASS (NZ) (C.M. Brew)
2nd HILLVIEW STORM (R.P. Bell)
3rd SAME OLD MACRAY (C.A. Suvaljko)
4th YIPPY YI ALBERT (A.C. Lewis)

Trainer/Driver Mr Shane Loone pleaded guilty to a charge under HRR187(2) for giving false evidence to the RWWA Investigator who was conducting official inquires into a ChemCentre report relating to the presence of aminocaproic acid in the post race urine sample taken from FLYING VILLAGE LORD NZ following the gelding’s win at Bunbury on Tuesday, 6 October 2009.

Mr Loone was disqualified for a period of three (3) months effective immediately.

Veterinary Surgeon Dr K. Rose was found guilty to a charge under HRR187(2) for giving false evidence to the RWWA Investigator who was conducting official inquires into a ChemCentre report relating to the presence of aminocaproic acid in the post race urine sample taken from FLYING VILLAGE LORD NZ following the gelding’s win at Bunbury on Tuesday, 6 October 2009.

Dr Rose was fined the sum of $10,000.
