Trainer Simon Barrass has advised RWWA Stewards that DANTE’S VOLONTE was found to have cast its off hind plate and to have abrasions to that leg following its unplaced performance in Race 7, the Goodwood Sprint over 1300M at Belmont Park Racecourse on Saturday, 21 August 2010.
He further advised that subsequent veterinary tests of DANTE’S VOLONTE revealed no abnormalities. Mr Barrass was of the opinion that the gelding’s disappointing performance was attributed to it over-racing in the early and middle stages and that it was now his intention to start it over 1000M at Belmont on Saturday, 28 August 2010 with the addition of a tongue-tie as it has since worked well with this piece of gear and that the gelding be allowed to stride freely in an attempt to have it settle throughout running.
