TAB Sportsbet would like to clarify the situation from the weekend in relation to Caulfield Cup betting with the scratchings at the barrier of Maldivian and Eskimo Queen.
Single Win and Place bets placed since Tuesday October 16 10.00am (WST) where the field was declared final field is subject to 'refunds and deductions'. Similarly bets placed prior to September 12th (when EI nationwide standstill occurred) are also to be refunded.
Therefore single bets placed on Maldivian or Eskimo Queen from last Tuesday 10.00am onwards were refunded and with the refund on these horses applying so too does the deduction.
A substantial 36c in the win dollar and 22c in the place dollar was deducted for Maldivian and 10c in the dollar for the win and 10c the place for Eskimo Queen making a total of 46c in the win and 32c in the place as the deductions for any winning bets on Master O'Reilly, Douro Valley and Princess Coup.
In regards to any fixed odds doubles or multi bets that had been placed on Maldivian or Eskimo Queen, the rule applies that in any multi if any of the two legs are "All In" then the bet is subject to "All In" rules in which there are no refunds and no deductions.
Any bets placed from last Tuesday 10.00am onwards in multis into events that were also final field events such as the other fixed odds races that were staged at Caulfield on Saturday would have operated as both legs "final field" and "refunds and deductions" would have applied.
Any multi bets and double bets from the Caulfield Cup into races such as the Melbourne Cup and Cox Plate are subject to "All In" betting rules and accordingly any scratching of a horse or failure to pay up throughout the acceptance process for a horse deems the bet a loser.
Pre-EI multis on Maldivian & Eskimo Queen now become single bets on the Melbourne Cup runners (the same as every other Caulfield Cup entry that did not run in the Caulfield Cup). If the Melbourne Cup runner does not start in the race, then the multi is refunded.
TAB Sportsbet would like to thank all customers for their understanding in this unique situation and wish you many winners for the remainder of the Spring Carnival.
