On 30th June 2008, Australia declared itself free of Equine Influenza - there are no known cases of EI in Australia.
It is still important that bio-security measures are followed - to prevent any outbreak of any Equine Infectious Disease.
Western Australia was fortunate to avoid any outbreak of EI - due to the prompt action, application of sound science, avoidance of risk and strong support from the racing industry.
