Select one runner to finish first and one runner to finish second.
To increase your chances, you can make multiple selections to finish first and/or second.
By marking your selections in the first box only, your runners can finish all ways - first and second in any order.
Multiply the number of selections in the first leg by the number of selections in the second leg, then subtract the number of selections repeated. Finally, multiply this figure by the nominated bet value.
For example, if you selected runners 1 and 2 to come first and 1, 2 and 3 to come second with a $2 bet value, you would calculate the bet cost like this:
| No. of selections for First | No. of selections for Second | No. of selections repeated | Number of combinations | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | x | 3 | - | 2 | = | 4 |
Now multiply the number of combinations by the nominated bet value.
| Number of combinations | Bet value nominated | Cost | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | x | $2 | = | $8 |
Use the TAB's cost calculators for the cost of Allways Exactas. See your TAB agent for any additional cost queries.
Exactas are available on all races.
Dead heats in either of the first two placings will result in more than one winning combination. As per standard dead heat rules, in the event of two dividends paid out on the same bet type, returns are calculated at 50% of the full dividend.
If any of your selections have been scratched you will receive a refund for every eliminated combination. For example, if you only select two runners, all combinations are eliminated when one is scratched. Your entire bet would be refunded. In bets containing more than two runners, you will receive a refund for those combinations in which the scratched runner appeared. You will also receive a full refund if the race is abandoned or postponed.
If the first two placegetters are not selected in correct finishing order, the Exacta prize pool from that race will be carried over and added to the Exacta pool on another race to be announced by the TAB.
A commission rate of 20% is deducted from gross investments. Exacta is a non-combined pool.
