Ownership

The sport of greyhound racing is becoming increasingly popular in WA with racetrack attendances, betting turnover and participant numbers growing every year.

Being an active part of the greyhound racing scene is easy, fun and affordable and with prizemoney on the rise, owning a greyhound can pay dividends too.

Like most things in life, making the right decisions and having a slice of luck are important so here is some helpful advice to get you started on the right path.

Owning a greyhound can be done as an individual, or with a group of friends. In both cases, owners will be required to be licensed with Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) where an application form needs to be completed and a 2 year fee paid.
