28 April 2008 Lewis Edging Ever Closer to 3500 Career Wins

A winner with On The Agenda in the last race at Pinjarra yesterday took Chris Lewis’s career wins tally to 3495.

Lewis is not driving at tonight’s Bunbury meeting and will resume the chase for the milestone on Friday night at Gloucester Park.

A recent check of each and every Perth winner for both Lewis and current Perth Wins record-holder Fred Kersley has been carried out and Kersley’s record has been confirmed at 1730 wins.

Lewis’s win with Can Return Fire at Gloucester Park on Saturday night took his Perth Wins tally to 1690 – just 40 behind Kersley.

Of those drivers currently driving Lewis is more than 800 Perth winners clear of Colin Brown who has 887 with Perth’s most recent members of the 500 Club in Gary Hall Jnr (621) and Mark Reed (543) chasing hard.
