05 May 2008 Your Sisters Next Reveals Admirable Toughness

Victorian-bred mare Your Sisters Next showed splendid fighting qualities when she raced wide early and then without cover for two laps before going on to win the Etherington Stakes from Riffle Dragon at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

Trained and driven by Matt Scott, Your Sisters Next, an 8/1 chance, rated a solid 2.1.3 over the 2536m in recording her first win in WA at her eighth start in this State.

Black Rocket (16/1) made a bold bid to lead all the way for Jarrad Humphries, while Fake Occasion (9/2) impressed in finishing boldly, out wide, from tenth at the bell to be a close fourth. She will pay to follow.

The disappointment of the race was the Tasmanian-owned Wayne Rooney, the 7/4 favourite, who was third, out three wide, for much of the final circuit before fading to finish 11th.
