A Brief History of The Club

Harvey District Trotting Club became an incorporated Club in 1936  and meetings were run on
the recreation oval in Harvey.  In 1979, a new 800 metre track and buildings were built 4 kms north of Harvey.

 

Financial difficulties occurred during the late 1980’s and with no support from the racing industry or local Shire, the complex was purchased by Chris King-Lethbridge (after whom the venue is named) and Panetta Brothers, Jim & Mimmi. 

 

Since then, the Club has been able to progress to become a vibrant and profitable Club, being well supported by its active, Committee, Members and harness racing fraternity. 

 

In these past 73 years, the Club has only had 4 Presidents and has the longest running country cup in Australia. 

 

Membership costs/Gate Entry Costs

Membership: $25.00/yr (Voting rights/Mailing List/Trainers who use track/No Member facilities)
