RWWA Stewards today, inquired into the late scratching of TORETTO from Race 6 at Gloucester Park on Friday 20 January 2017 after a report was received from RWWA Senior Investigative Steward Mr Paul Criddle alleging that he had witnessed Trainer, Mr Bradley Lynn, in company with Licensed Driver, Mr Michael Paris (Owner of TORETTO) stomach tube the horse when conveying it to Gloucester Park.
Analysis of all samples taken by the ChemCentre (WA) reported no prohibited substances detected.
Evidence was taken from Trainer, Mr B Lynn, Driver Mr M Paris (Owner of TORETTO), RWWA Senior Investigator Mr P Criddle and RWWA Industry Veterinarian Dr J Medd.
Both Mr Lynn and Mr Paris pleaded guilty to a charge under Harness Rule of Racing 193 (1) relating to stomach tubing TORETTO on 20 January 2017 at approximately 6.15pm whilst it was in the float when it was nominated to race in Race 6 at Gloucester Park that evening.
After hearing submissions on the matter of penalty the Stewards reserved their decision with respect to penalty which will be issued in due course.
The direction by Stewards to suspend the licences of Mr Lynn and Mr Paris remains in effect pending outcome of the inquiry.
