Thoroughbred – Stewards Inquiry – Stable Hand Anthony Bolden
17 March, 2017
Thoroughbred
At a Stewards inquiry held on Friday, 24 February 2017, Licensed Stable Hand Anthony Bolden was found guilty to a charge under AR175(y) of sexual harassment towards a licensed person through social media. The inquiry was subsequently adjourned to allow Stewards to determine the matter of penalty.
Stewards have today finalised their deliberations and a penalty of disqualification for a period of nine (9) months was imposed. When considering penalty, the following factors were taken into account:
The circumstances and nature of the offence
Mr Bolden’s prior record which showed a misconduct offence under AR175(q) in July 2013 which involved inappropriate text messages to another licensed person
The need for the penalty to achieve an appropriate level of specific and general deterrence
Mr Bolden’s personal circumstances
