Community TAB And Telstra Perth Fashion Festival Puts Spotlight On Local Talent
25 August, 2016
WA designers and local talent will be celebrated in the spotlight at this year’s Telstra Perth Fashion Festival (TPFF) thanks to Principal Presenting Partner Community TAB.
The partnership between TPFF and Community TAB will involve a number of exciting initiatives including support for multiple designers, competitions, a shared charity partner, and the sponsorship of two closing night runway shows.
Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) chairman Jeff Ovens said Community TAB’s sponsorship would be focused on supporting and promoting WA designers.
“We recognise the important role TPFF plays in being the launching pad for emerging designers all over the State, both regional and metropolitan,” Mr Ovens said.
“We are proud to know our sponsorship of closing night is supporting multiple designers, and as the Principal Presenting Partner we are also producing festival highlights everyday to further expose designers to the public.”
The closing night runways will feature several WA designers including Flannel, Morrison, Reny Kestel, 33 Poets, Tokay, Megan Salmon, and Steph Audino.
Mr Ovens said Community TAB would also match the funds raised by TPFF in support of the event charity partner.
The 2016 TPFF charity event partner will be Breast Cancer Care WA.
Mr Ovens said an existing Community TAB charity program that had been running for two years inspired the 2016 TPFF charity selection.
“As part of our program, we ask each WA race club to choose a non-for-profit organisation, the organisation is then offered the platform to fundraise at a major race day and Community TAB will match what is raised,” Mr Ovens said.
“Breast Cancer Care WA was selected as the TPFF charity partner as a result of the Community TAB program.”
Festivalgoers will also have the chance to win an exciting racing and fashion prize worth up to $5,000 thanks to Community TAB.
Community TAB is an initiative that allows RWWA to support the WA community through various initiatives.
Telstra Perth Fashion Festival will run over six days from 20 to 25 September 2016.
