Community TAB supports regional WA
15 June, 2017
Community TAB is continuing its support of regional West Australian communities through its sponsorship of the WA Regional Achievement and Community (WARAC) Awards, for a second year in a row.
Community TAB is the sponsor of the Community Service Award which recognises individuals or groups who make a significant contribution through community service or social justice initiatives in the areas of culture, health, emergency services or education.
Racing and Wagering WA Chief Executive Officer Richard Burt said Community TAB is excited to be a part of the Awards again this year.
“We see the awards as a prestigious way of recognising people who are helping shape and develop WA regional communities to benefit others,” Mr Burt said.
“Community TAB has been involved in supporting regional communities since its inception by partnering with WA race clubs to fundraise for not-for-profit organisations in need in their local areas, and sponsor of the Awards last year also.
“Community TAB recognises the importance in maintaining and growing our regional communities and showing appreciation to those who assist in this.”
WARAC Awards Manager Josh Griffin welcomed the continued support from Community TAB.
“The WARAC Awards have been in place for the past 16 years and are designed to encourage, acknowledge and reward the valuable contributions individuals, communities and businesses are making throughout regional and rural WA,” Mr Griffin said.
“Our partnership with Community TAB has been excellent and allows us to continue to recognise individuals and groups who are committed to making WA a better place to live.
“If someone has made an impact or difference in your life or has impressed you with their community spirit, why not nominate them?”
Each category winner will receive $2,000 along with a trophy, and the Department of Regional Development Overall State Winner will receive an additional $2,000.
Nominations are now open until Wednesday 26 July.
To nominate go to www.awardsaustralia.com select Western Australian Regional Achievement and Community Awards and then ‘Nominate Now’.
The Awards ceremony will take place on Friday 20 October.
