Our Jericho and Im Master Charlie look set to slug it out in the Murray Downs Discretionary Handicap Pace (2503m) at Gloucester Park.
Our Jericho, from the Ross Oliveri camp and Im Master Charlie, prepared by Michael Brennan, head to Perth in search of a winning hat trick.
Im Master Charlie, who has drawn barrier two, will appreciate the front line after impressively overcoming two 40m handicaps at Northam.
The son of Bettors Delight is building an impressive strike rate since arriving from New Zealand, missing the money just once from his three starts.
Not to be outdone, Our Jericho, driven by champion reinsman, Chris Lewis, defied 30 and 40m handicaps to win at Pinjarra and Bunbury respectively.
The son of Tomahawk has put together four wins and two second placings from seven starts since crossing the Tasman last year.
Oliveri said he was looking forward to the clash between Our Jericho and Im Master Charlie, who appears to have some ability.
“It should be a good contest and good race, Oliveri said on TABradio.
“I haven’t seen Im Master Charlie but he sounds like a good horse, just like Our Jericho.
“I was going to give Our Jericho another couple of races in the bush before coming to town, but there weren’t any suitable races.
“His last run was very good and he is on the way up and improving.”
Chris Lewis and Our Jericho, who can sail past $50,000 in stake earnings, combine from gate four.
Trainer-driver, Kristian Hawkins, says Our Machs A Pearler, a last start winner at Bunbury, can’t be underestimated from his inside gate.
“If he stepped away with them he is a serious chance,” Hawkins said.
