Kersley Jumps To Rising Stars Lead After Top Week

Fred Kersley will be out to strengthen his lead in the Touchstone Farm Rising Star Series when he partners top mare Danehills Daughter at Bunbury on Saturday.
The Stephen Rowe-trained five-year-old, runner-up in the Kalgoorlie Cup, is the $2.70 favourite to win the Bank Of Queensland Handicap (2000m).
The daughter of Danehills Express has emerged as one of the staying finds of the winter after stringing together four consecutive victories.
With Kersley’s 3kg claim Danehills Daughter will carry 56kg and in a field of nine starters she has drawn barrier seven.
Kersley can cap a top week when he also combines with, Sistakini (1), First Affair (5), King Of Wu (5) and Infathuated (8).
Kersley commenced a top seven days in the saddle when he guided Our Finest Monet to victory at Belmont last Saturday.
He then followed up on Wednesday aboard Buster’s Shadow before rating Woodsmans Keep at Northam on Thursday.
Kersley leads the Rising Star series from Brodie Kirby, who will look to close the gap with rides at Leinster and Geraldton.
