Racing and Wagering Western Australia’s (RWWA) 2017 Ownership Expo was officially staged on Tuesday night at Elizabeth Quay.
The Expo was an opportunity for the general public to engage with key racing personnel to determine how to get involved in racehorse ownership and to gather relevant information for those looking to invest at the upcoming Thoroughbred and Standardbred yearling sales.
In attendance included major studs, Mungrup Stud, Gold Front Thoroughbreds, Darling View Thoroughbreds, Touchstone Farm, as well as VIP’s such as Owners Only ambassadors, former West Coast Eagles champion Dean Cox, WA businessman Rick Hart, and Fashion and Lifestyle Blogger Rayne Embley.
“The Ownership Expo engages and provides information regarding racehorse ownership to the general public, making the process of becoming involved in the industry transparent in terms of costs involved, who to speak to, and how you can share in the unique experience of racing,” said General Manager Racing, Charlotte Mills.
“It provides industry with the opportunity to bring racing to the people in an educational and informative setting to those potentially interested in getting involved.”
The Expo also allowed an opportunity for the general public to interact with some of WA’s retired greyhounds through RWWA’s Greyhound as Pets Program, as well as meeting WA Hall of Fame Inductee Scenic Blast through RWWA’s Off the Track program.
The Ownership Expo coincided with the barrier draw for the Magic Millions Perth 2YO Classic and Magic Millions 3YO Trophy to be staged at Pinjarra for the second year in a row, on Saturday, February 11.
The Perth Magic Millions Thoroughbred Yearling Sales will be held at Belmont Park on February 20 and 21, and the APG Standardbred Yearling Sales at Belmont Park on March 5.
