William Pike and Grant and Alana Williams have the jockey and trainer’s premiership all wrapped up, but the battle for second spot in each category is still up for bragging rights.
Jarrad Noske and Brad Parnham are fighting it out in the jockey’s race with just one win separating the pair after the Belmont Park meeting on the weekend.
Noske landed an early blow with Salubrious in the opening race and narrowly missed out on a double when Top Of The Class ran a narrow second to Karlakee Miss.
Brad Parnham struck later in the day and kept within touch of Noske when he gave Variation a world perfect run from a wide draw in the Listed Belmont Guineas.
Young gun Aaron Mitchell is still in the hunt for the minor prize, but failed to add to his tally on Saturday and is three wins adrift of Noske and Parnham.
Simon Miller maintained his one win lead over Geoff Durrant and Jason Miller after Meteoroid continued her recent good form, racing on pace and scoring by 2 ¼ lengths.
Earlier the Durrant and Miller combination advanced to 47 city wins when their improving filly Karlakee Miss scored by a narrow margin.
