Gun young Western Australia jockey Jordan Turner has been hit with another setback in Victoria.
Turner is expected to be on the sidelines for up two months after fracturing his right wrist at Colac on Monday.
Turner sustained the injury while riding at the jump outs and requires surgery to have a screw inserted in his wrist.
It’s another blow for the talented apprentice who has been struck by a couple of nasty injuries since crossing the Nullarbor and teaming up with Leon and Troy Corstens in Melbourne.
Turner suffered a badly dislocated shoulder and a fractured collarbone in a track work incident at Flemington last February, keeping him out of the saddle for a long stretch.
Turner, who has ridden 23 winners this season, was remaining positive, despite his latest set back.
“No luck at all, but I will keep my chin up,” he said.
“Hopefully a speedy recovery and I will be back in the saddle soon.”
