28 March 2008 Hustwitt Joins RWWA as Assistant Riding Master

Jeremy Hustwitt will join RWWA next week, as Assistant Riding Master replacing Craig Coombe who has recently resigned.

Hustwitt hasn’t ridden since falling at Mt Barker 12 months ago when he suffered a serious shoulder injury.

To follow his dream of becoming a jockey, Jeremy left Esperance Senior High School in 1972 mid way through Year 11.

In 1989 and 1992 he was invited to ride at Sarawak in Malaysia.

During the 80’s and 90’s he was always ranked among the top 10 Metropolitan riders and in recent years Jeremy Hustwitt has been somewhat of a journeyman, riding throughout the north in the winter and the south west in the summer, securing many leading rider awards at Broome, Esperance and all places between.

He joins Laurie Millington who has been in the role of Riding Master since August 1999 and will bring a wealth of racing knowledge to the role.
