Racing and Wagering Western Australia in conjunction with the Agri-Food Industry Skills Council are proud to introduce the inaugural Racing Industry Employee Awards programme.
The awards program is open to all three racing codes and is designed to recognise the hard-working members of the racing industry who work tirelessly behind the scenes.
The judges will be looking for people who demonstrate reliability, teamwork and dedication to their job and the welfare of the animals in their care. Additionally it is expected that the winners will be people who are an asset to their industry and are role models for others to promote the opportunities that careers in the racing codes offer.
Ron Fleming Manager Racing Industry Training said “we strongly encourage all trainers, in particular from Regional WA, to participate in the awards program by recognising and nominating their most valued employees.”
Categories include studhands, trackriders and stablehands for thoroughbreds, stablehands and studhands for harness and kennelhands for the greyhounds.
Nominations are not just exclusive to trainers, but also can be made by any other person connected with the respective stable, kennel or stud. Individual race clubs are also encouraged to participate by nominating dedicated and loyal employees.
Nominations close on August 12, 2008.
