The FHRC Committee has reviewed the club’s schedule of feature races for the 2008-2009 season and resolved to increase the stake for the 2008 McInerney Ford 4YO Classic from $100,000 to $125,000.
The Club’s objective is to enhance the status of the race and provide maximum prize money during the Gloucester Park four-year-old carnival leading into Christmas.
The $25,000 additional stake is to be fully funded from the Fremantle Harness Racing Club’s Stakes Reserve, and the Club sees this as an opportunity to return surplus funds back to the industry participants through additional feature race stakes.
The McInerney Ford 4YO Classic is scheduled to be run at the Fremantle meeting at Gloucester Park on Friday 5 December 2008.
With the $175,000 XXXX Gold Golden Nugget 4yo Championship to be run at Gloucester Park on November 28th there will be $300,000 on offer for the nation’s best four year olds over the two meetings.
