Placing Bets

We recommend that you make a written record of your bets before you call the Phone Betting centre. This makes it easier for you to read your bets to the Customer Service Representatives (CSR), and to check them when the CSR calls them back to you.

To place your bets, you can call 13 23 69 from anywhere in Australia for the cost of a local call. We rarely have a queue and the average wait time is ten seconds. This is not guaranteed on Melbourne Cup Day but we certainly staff a lot of people to get your bets through as quickly as possible.

When your call is answered, immediately give your account number and surname. Before accepting your bet details, the CSR will advise you the current balance of your account. If you agree with this figure then go ahead and place your investments in the manner shown in the section "How to Call Your Investments".

After you call each bet, the CSR will action the investment and "call back". This is your opportunity to correct any error(s) which might have occurred. If you do not query the "call back" you are deemed to have accepted the details called back as being correct and is recorded as a transaction.

When all your investments have been recorded, the CSR will advise you the "total amount invested" during that particular telephone call. Please ensure that you agree with the figure given after the call back.

Security

Your security codes are to prevent unauthorised use of your account. Do not allow other persons access to these codes or your account details. Notify the Account Sales Centre immediately should you lose or mislay your account details.

For the protection of clients, all telephone transactions are recorded. In accordance with RWWA regulations, recorded tapes are retained for at least 7 days before being erased. Disputes regarding account balances and transactions must be lodged in writing within seven days to RWWA Head Office.
