Pinjarra Harness Racing Club
A Brief History of The Club
Pinjarra Trotting Club was founded in 1950 with the first meeting held in Pinjarra on the 10th of March 1954.
The original trotting track was located at the Greater Sports Ground however in 1959 the club purchased land from the McLarty family and began construction of a new triangle track. On Wednesday the 11th of December 1968 the track was opened.
In 1990 the new 1000 metre track was opened with euro-polls used instead of a running rail - a first for Western Australia.
The Pinjarra track is still the only 1000 metre track in Western Australia and is regarded by the majority of trainers and drivers as being the best in WA.
In 2011 the club opened its stunning new amenity for patrons, the Paceway Pavilion, which has a restaurant, full bar and TAB facilities.
