Mr Jeffery William Ovens (Chairman)

Managing Director of Admor Corporate, a company established in 1987 to provide corporate advice to public and private clients. Jeff has consulted to a number of clients on efficiency initiatives and has helped implement significant change programs aimed at improving company performance in the tertiary education sector, health related industries and the sports industry.

Jeff is a former CEO and Commissioner of the West Australian Football Commission and is a Director of Bethesda Hospital. Jeff has qualifications in Civil Engineering and an MBA from the University of WA (1984), not to mention qualifications in viticulture and oenology which serve him well as the owner and winemaker at the boutique winery Hackersley Estate.

 


Mr James Malcolm Freemantle (Deputy Chairman)

Company Director and formerly CEO of Home Building Society.

Holds the degrees of B.Econ. and M.Admin and is a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Aust and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Chair of a number of public/private partnerships, Board Member of various Government agencies, private companies and not for profit organisations. TAB Board Member (2003-04).

 


Mr John Leslie Bradshaw Ph Ch. JP

Retired.

Former Liberal Member for Murray-Wellington (February 1983 to 26 February 2005) with Ministerial Appointments as Parliamentary Secretary of the Cabinet 16 February 1993 - 9 January 1997, Parliamentary Secretary assisting the Minister for Mines, Tourism and Sport and Recreation 9 January 1997 - 15 February 2001.

Before entering Parliament owned and operated pharmacies in Harvey and Waroona. Life Memberships of Apex, St John Ambulance Assoc Harvey, Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. Previous President Southern Pharmacists' Assoc.

 


Mr Ross Alan Cooper

Appointed August 2003

Retired.

Ross was a licensed bookmaker at thoroughbred, harness and greyhound race meetings in WA (1976-2001) and is a life member of the WA Bookmakers' Association. He was a delegate to both the WA Thoroughbred Racing Industry Council and Harness Racing Industry Council, was a member of the Betting Control Board (1994-98) and TAB Board Member (2001-04).

Ross was a Form Analyst with the Western Australian Trotting Association providing analytical assessment of race performance and assisting in maintaining confidence and integrity in the conduct of racing (2001-02).

 


Dr Lianne Cretney-Barnes

Managing Director - lcb and associates.

Lianne has a Doctor of Business Administration and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Institute of Management and the Australian Marketing Institute. She also holds board positions with Chemcentre (WA) and the Australian Marketing Institute.

Formerly Executive Director, Student Services, Marketing & Development at Murdoch University, CEO of Aragon Education & Training, Director of Marketing & Development at Edith Cowan University and Marketing and Information Systems Manager for the Australian Institute of Management. Lianne has also worked in the retail and finance industries.

 


Mr Gary Gliddon

Appointed November 2011

Managing Director of Braxford Consultancy and specialises in providing Corporate Governance, Probity and Audit related services.

Prior to establishing his Nedlands-based practice, he was a Director with Deloitte in Perth delivering enterprise risk services to both private and public sector clients.

Gary is a part owner of two litters of greyhounds.

 


Mr Robert Charles Pearson

Chairperson and Managing Director Statewide Oil Distributors since 1985.

Extensive involvement in the Oil Industry particularly for logistical and marketing of lubricants throughout WA.

Principal Director on the Australian Racing Board since 2003 and Chairman (2007-2009). Former Director on the Board of Racing Information Services Australia. Currently a Vice Patron of East Perth Football Club. Previous President East Perth Football Club (1990-1992), Committee WATC (1992-1994), Betting Control Board member (1993-1994), board member WA Swimming Association (2000-2002). TAB Board Member (2003-04). Owner/part owner of a number of thoroughbred horses in WA and Eastern States.

 


Professor John Yovich AM

John is a specialist veterinarian with lifelong involvement in the racing industry. He is Executive Chairman of Student Edge and a Director of the Royal Institution of Australia. John was Vice Chancellor and President of Murdoch University from 2002-2011 and chaired Innovative Research Universities Australia. He was Executive Dean of Murdoch University's Division of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences 1996-2002, a Board Member of the Australian Science Media Centre, Director of the Australian-American Fulbright Commission, Trustee of the Murdoch University Veterinary Trust and Chairman of the Murdoch University Foundation.

He has been a member of the National Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation Equine Research Advisory Committee, the Australian Veterinary Boards Council, the Consultative Group for the Federal Review of Rural Veterinary Services; the board of Future Directions International, the Business-Industry-Higher Education Collaboration Council and Vice-President of IDP Education Australia Limited. John was previously Deputy Chair of the Western Australian Totalisator Agency Board, Member of the Racecourse Development Trust and Vice-Chairman of the Western Australian Turf Club.
