05 February 2008 CRIS Download Format Change Notification
The CRIS download format will be modified for the following reasons:
- To address an issue with the formatting of certain race times within Excel.
- To add data that was previously only shown on the CRIS website.
- To increase the readability of the downloaded files.
CRIS users who are automatically importing the downloaded files into custom-built systems may need to modify their software. These changes will be made to the CRIS website on Friday February 22, 2008. For examples on the modifications please view the sample files attached as well as a detailed list of the changes below.

Detailed Changes are as follows:
Results
- The race time has been enclosed in brackets, i.e. “01:04:72” will become “(01:04:72)”.
- The place settled position has been added to the race results.
- The horse trainer has been added to the race results.
- The horse rating has been added to the race results.
- Removed brackets around the barrier number.
- Placed blinker data in its own column (i.e., it is no longer grouped with the horse name).
- Column headers have been added.
- The owners row has been removed.
- The winning trainer row has been removed (trainers will be displayed for all horses).
Acceptances
- The empty brackets at the end of each row have been removed.
- The horse trainer has been added to the acceptance data.
- Column headers have been added.
- A brief description of the previous start codes has been added to the end of the file.
Horse Performances
- The race time has been enclosed in brackets.
- The barrier has been added to the performances.
- The track condition has been added to the performances.
- The horse rating has been added to the performances.
- Column headers have been added.
Trials
- The trial time has been enclosed in brackets.
- The horse trainer has been added to the trial data.
- Times reading 00:00:00 are no longer displayed.
- Column headers have been added.
