Effective 1 August 2009, sweeping changes to existing whip rules will be introduced nationally. Only padded whips of a design approved by the Stewards will be permitted in races, trials and trackwork.
RWWA Stewards have conducted several Information Sessions for Jockeys throughout the state. In addition, all riders have been provided with a national DVD demonstrating correct and incorrect whip use.
