RWWA wishes to announce the payment of $2.8m in grants to WATC in the 07/08 financial year. These funds have been allocated towards the redevelopment of the Ascot race track undertaken by Perth Racing in 2005.
In 2005, the State Government established the Racecourse Infrastructure Grant Fund for country and regional racecourses with a commitment of $20million from 2005-2008 with RWWA committing a further $5million. Metropolitan clubs were not included in the regional program, as a result, during this period additional funding was made available to metropolitan clubs for priority capital infrastructure works such as the Ascot track upgrade.
