RWWA has engaged respected human resources consulting firm Chandler MacLeod to undertake a strategic workforce planning project for the Western Australian racing industry. The initial phase of the project will focus on addressing the critical shortage of track work riders in the industry.
Chandler MacLeod will be conducting focus groups with Employers (Trainers), Track Work Riders, Jockeys and Apprentices over the next two weeks.
The main focus will be on the shortage on track work riders and how this is affecting you. We are keen to find out some of the reasons why you think there are shortages and your views around this issue.
Focus groups will be held at Ascot, Bunbury and Kalgoorlie on the following dates:

All industry participants are encouraged to participate in the focus groups, which will greatly assist in exploring different issues the industry is facing on an ongoing basis. Each focus group session will last for up to 2 hours and will address a number of key areas within this time.
