58 horses are still in the running for the 2015 TABtouch Perth Inter Dominion.
Despite the withdrawal of defending champion and top seed Beautide, most of the big names have made the first payment for the $1.8 million series, set to start at Gloucester Park on Friday 27 November.
NZ champion Christen Me leads Australasia’s best pacers, which include Victoria’s Philadelphia Man, Lennytheshark and Franco Ledger as well as recent Group One winner Avonnova from Queensland.
Although Beautide will not make the trip to Perth, his dual Inter Dominion winning trainer and driver James Rattray has paid up for emerging star Modern Ruler, while NSW’s leading trainer Shane Tritton still has four horses in the series, with Mach Beauty, Jivin Cullen, Yayas Hotspot, and last year’s Inter Dominion heat winner Easy On The Eye, all paid up.
Gary Hall’s stablemates My Hard Copy and Waylade lead the local contingent along with the Kyle Harper trained Bettors fire.
“This is the strongest series I’ve seen in a long time” said GPHR CEO Michael Radley
“In 2012 we had a number of champions competing like Im Themightyquinn, Smoken Up and Mr Feelgood, however as far as depth is concerned, 2015 shapes up as something special”.
The third rankings will be released on Monday 19 October at 4.00 pm WST with a number of hopefuls looking to break into the top 30 and secure a start in Australasia’s richest harness racing series.
