Brennan Predicts Bright Future For Im Rockaria
Im Rockaria can justify the high opinion of, Michael Brennan, when he tackles the opening heat of the Pearl Classic for colts and geldings at Gloucester Park (2130m) this afternoon.
Brennan predicts a bright future for the son of Rocknroll Hanover who has displayed encouraging signs for the Pinjarra trainer in the opening three starts of his racing career.
The impressive youngster ran close seconds at Pinjarra and Gloucester Park before shedding his maiden status with a dominant victory over Jiving Jolt at Narrogin.
Driven by Chris Voak, Im Rockaria, showed good gate speed, led at the bell and gave favourite punters little concern when he crossed the line 6 metres in front.
Voak retains the drive on Im Rockaria and will commence from gate three. Brennan confidently declared his two-year-old charge would hard to beat.
“I thought he would be very hard to beat,” Brennan said on TABradio.
“His win at Narrogin was very soft and his two runs before were outstanding.
“He is very much above average and whoever beats him will win.
“He has been very well educated and will continue to improve.
“He has tremendous gate speed and an old head on young shoulders.
“I think he will be a serious player in the final.”
Brennan has high hopes when he unveils unveil Kasey John in the second heat; however the Bettors Delight colt meets race hardened and in form rival, Wesley.
Brennan says despite his inexperience and stepping out for his first official race track hit out, Kasey John, should not be underestimated.
“It’s a very good race and obviously Wesley will bounce to the lead and prove hard to beat,” Brennan said.
“He is another who has been well educated and does everything right. He is a very good front runner.
“This little fella of mine has had two trials and was beaten a length and second up a nose by Courageous Disco who has won two.
“He is a talented horse without race experience, but both trials he has had the ear plugs in and we haven’t fully extended him.
“What he lacks in race experience he makes up in ability and I’m very hopeful he can qualify for the final as well.”
Kasey John and Chris Voak combine from gate four. Wesley and reinsman, Reon Tither, will start on his inside.
