Byford Bowling Club Awarded Community TAB Sports Grant
Racing and Wagering Western Australia’s (RWWA) Community TAB has awarded Byford Bowling Club with a $2,000 sports grant.
The club will use the grant towards engaging a dedicated coach to deliver development programs for schools and community organisations.
Byford Bowling Club President Alan Walters said the grant will allow the club to continue to engage with more community groups, to introduce them to lawn bowls.
“Byford Bowling Club heavily relies on its fantastic members to provide volunteer assistance for all facets of the clubs administration and maintenance, therefore fundraising plays a significant part in our ability to run our community programs,” Alan said.
“Our club’s unique covered bowling green provides the ability to hold community events all year round, and community groups, schools and corporate bowlers are able to access our bowling facilities for coaching, playing and socialising any time during the year, day and night.”
RWWA Chief Executive Officer Ian Edwards said the organisation recognises the importance of grassroots sport in Western Australia.
“We are honoured to be supporting local sporting clubs to ensure they can continue to play a vital role in their community,” Ian said.
“Grassroots sporting clubs not only provide important benefits for individual wellbeing, but they also bring people from the local community together.”
Applications are now open for all Western Australian sporting clubs, allowing communities from all corners of the State to apply for financial support.
Community TAB will be providing two sporting clubs with a grant each month, with applications able to be submitted here.
