2 April, 2019
Netball WA is pleased to announce a recommitment from Community TAB, which will help ensure netball in regional communities continues to thrive.
The partnership extension will continue to support Netball WA’s Aboriginal Grassroots Sites.
Community TAB proudly promotes the Corporate Social Responsibility of Racing and Wagering WA by giving back to the WA community.
“Community TAB is excited to continue our partnership with Netball WA to support their Aboriginal All Stars and Grassroots Programs, furthering our contribution to the WA sporting community, regional WA and Indigenous community,” Matt Thomas, General Manager – Community TAB, said.
“We have seen the importance of these programs over the first year of partnership in promoting health and wellbeing, developing role models for Aboriginal women and encouraging strong connection to country and culture.”
“We have thoroughly enjoyed working with and getting to know coaches, players, facilitators and the community so far. Having the opportunity to understand some of the challenges and issues they face and discuss how we could further assist in bridging the gap to promote more active participation in the sport has definitely been a rewarding part of this partnership.”
“We are excited to know that our $50,000 contribution will continue to go towards creating pathways, both on and off the court, for Aboriginal women throughout WA.”
Netball WA CEO Simon Taylor said the partnership has had a direct impact on regional netball communities.
“Community TAB’s investment in the Aboriginal Grassroots Program helps us to provide opportunities to increase netball participation and development for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living throughout WA,” Taylor Said.
“We are committed to achieving our purpose of advancing netball, advancing communities and we would like to thank Community TAB for their continued support in making this possible.”
With clubs and competitions in every major town across the State, engaging more than 230,000 participants, over 8,500 of these identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Netball WA has a diverse portfolio of programs and activities.
Community TAB supports WA in many different industries including racing, sport, not-for-profit organisations and West Australian events that support home-grown talent.
