Community TAB gives $20,000 of sports grants in one week
This September, Community TAB will provide $20,000 to WA sporting clubs during the final week of its sports grants program.
To celebrate the success of the two-year program, from 23 to 29 September Community TAB will provide a grant of up to $4,000 to a club each day.
Since the launch of the program in late 2017, Community TAB has provided a total of $144,000 in grants to 24 regional and 21 metropolitan sporting clubs across the State.
RWWA Chief Executive Officer Richard Burt said the initiative has made a pronounced impact in the WA sporting industry.
“The reach of the grants from Community TAB goes from Port Hedland in the far north to Ravensthorpe in the far south, and we are proud to have been able to give back so extensively to grassroots sports in WA through this program,” Mr Burt said.
“The program recognises the importance of sport in communities throughout the State and we understand it takes time and resources to keep a club running.”
“We are honoured to have been able to provide the opportunity to help relieve this stress on clubs over the past two years.”
Community TAB is an initiative of Racing and Wagering WA, and will continue to give back to the WA community through its major partnerships, including Netball WA and the Integrated Football Program, as well as state-wide fundraising initiatives and programs.
Clubs that have received grants include a number of popular sports as well less prevalent sports, and have also benefitted clubs that cater for equality and inclusivity in regards to ability, gender and culture.
“We encourage sporting clubs that haven’t already applied for a grant to do so, to be in with a chance to receive one of the final seven grants that will be distributed during September,” Mr Burt said.
Applications for grants need to be submitted by 23 September. If a sporting club has already applied for a Community TAB sports grant, they are already included in the pool of potential recipients and do not need to apply again.
WA sporting clubs can apply for a grant at communitytab.com.au. Terms and Conditions apply.
