Conditioned Racing System Terminology
From the 1st October 2020 there is going to be a slight change in how races are described. This is going to be an ongoing simplification exercise but for the time being we have gone halfway.
Races for example will be described as below:
- L10/11 (CL12) HWOE LT $70,000
- (CONCESSIONS HWOE LT $85,000)
- NE HWOE LT $18,500
- Preference to HWOE $40,000+ (RL11)
- (Concessions for Novice Driver, Fillies & Mares)
Eventually they will change to this, or similar:
- L10/11 (CL12)
- NE L1/6
- (RL11)
- (Concessions for Novice Driver, Fillies & Mares)
Legend:
L = Horse Level
CL = Horse Level allowed to Claim.
The 1st mentioned L = Preference on the race. For example, L10/11 means Preference to L10+
The last mentioned L = Race Level. For example, L10/11 indicates Race Level 11.
The other immediate change is in the Barrier Draw terminology. The GPPBD/HWOE will change in description to PBD/L. The process and the order is exactly the same principle it is just the way we describe it that is different.
So, a L10 horse will draw inside an L11 horse which will draw inside a L12 horse dropping in via concession. The draw remains random within horse Levels. All the L10 horses will be randomly assigned their barrier from within all the L10 horses etc.
It is important to note that the process is exactly the same, it is just the way we describe it that is different.
2YO barrier draws remain the same as PBD/HWOE because it is a straight barrier draw on the HWOE not on a Level or grouped in anyway.
