We remind industry participants to ensure preparations are in place to protect the welfare of our thoroughbreds, standardbreds and greyhounds in the event of a bushfire crisis.
Participants can refer to the WA Racing Industry Bushfire Emergency Information Kit, outlining key contacts and resources to assist in the event of a bushfire crisis, as well as information for planning and returning to your property if you are required to evacuate. You can refer to the kit here.
It is important to be prepared well before any fire risk to ensure the safety of both people and our animals, and to have a plan of action for how you will keep your horses and greyhounds safe during a bushfire.
You can keep informed and monitor current bushfire emergency warnings at https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au/.
