First time owners leap from Chasing the Dream straight to living the dream
Owning a share in a greyhound was thrilling enough for the winners of Chase the Dream 2021 but the competitive young athlete had much bigger plans.
As our first Chase the Dream dog, with a desire to lead the pack, she naturally took on the kennel name of Chase before adding Our Dream Girl as her registered race name.
Owner’s syndicate manager Jodee Jennings, who leads the Chase the Dream team group of 20 mostly first-time owners, said Chase showed her winning personality from a young age.
“Chase has always been strong, spunky and full of herself. Watching her grow we always knew she had a lot of talent, and that’s partly why I offered to manage the syndicate of new owners.” Jodee said.
During pre-training, Our Dream Girl has shown great racing attributes. She recorded second place in her first race, turning heads and raising eyebrows in the owner’s circle.
“A lot of the owners began to realise Our Dream Girl’s potential after her trials, and after her first race the room was just electric,” Jodee said.
“To finally see her run a year after the competition was exciting for myself and for the owners.”
It was not enough for the stylish young runner, though, who went on to record first place in her second career race.
“The team were so thrilled,” said Jodee.
“It was a huge run by Our Dream Girl, and we really have had a dream start with her.”
With greyhound enthusiasts tipping Our Dream Girl for an imminent rise in class, she looks set to continue rewarding owners down the track.
