Gascoyne ‘Iso Heat’ Winner Crowned
Denham local Stacey Reynolds has been named the winner of WA Fashions on the Field’s virtual Gascoyne heat, earning herself a nomination to the prestigious final at Ascot later this year.
As a seasoned racegoer, Ms Reynolds had her winning dress ready to wear for Geraldton Cup in April this year, and was not about to let it go to waste.
“I fell in love with the covered buttons, fabric and prints on this Zimmerman dress as soon as I saw it, and I worked with my favourite milliners from Maker Millinery in Kalgoorlie to design a headpiece that would complete the look,” Ms Reynolds said.
“I am a huge country racing fan, so when I heard there would be an ‘iso heat’ I thought it was a great opportunity to still dress up and feel some of the excitement of being at the track,” she said.
Ms Reynolds, who has entered Fashions on the Field competitions for the past three years, said Carnarvon Ladies Day has become her favourite day of the year.
“I normally travel to Carnarvon especially for the day with a big group of my Shark Bay friends, Ms Reynolds said.”
“I love travelling to race meetings all over WA, not only for the chance to enter Fashions on the Field competitions, but to catch up with all the friends I have made at the races over the years,” she said.
“We are so lucky here in WA to have so many great events to enter.”
Along with a $750 cash prize, Ms Reynolds also received a $500 donation from Community TAB to give to a local charity of her choice.
“I have selected to donate the $500 to the Carnarvon Family Support Service (CFSS), who provide assistance to the most vulnerable in our community – from parents, children, elderly and disabled,” Ms Reynolds said.
“I have been lucky enough to attend some of the parenting workshops the CFSS provide in Shark Bay, and I think the support they provide to families in our community is invaluable,” she said.
The Gascoyne ‘iso heat’ was the seventh and final virtual heat in WA, with the remainder of Fashions on the Field competitions now running as normal on the track.
The winners of each heat are shortlisted for the WA Fashions on the Field Final, with the chance to score a major prize including a trip for two to London to attend the 2021 Royal Ascot, $10,000 in spending money and a $5,000 Linneys voucher.
The winner of each ‘iso heat’ have received $750 cash, along with a $500 donation to a local charity of their choice from Primary Sponsor of the event, Community TAB.
The Final in November 2020 will comprise of a Top 12, with ten to be selected by a RWWA judging panel and the other two determined by a public vote.
