Great Southern ‘Iso Heat’ Winner Crowned
Mount Melville local Anjanee Gaoneadry has been named the winner of WA Fashions on the Field’s virtual Great Southern heat, earning herself a nomination to the prestigious final at Ascot later this year.
New to the racing scene, Ms Gaoneadry said she only started going to the races about a year ago.
“So far, my favourite part about going to the races is the fashion. I love dressing up, and I thought this competition presented the perfect opportunity to do so, whilst representing our beautiful town,” she said.
“I decided to go for a black and white look this time, as I think it is a timeless and elegant look – perfect for Fashions on the Field.”
Along with a $750 cash prize, Ms Gaoneadry also received a $500 donation from Community TAB to give to a local charity of her choice.
“I have selected to donate the $500 to our local women’s refuge. Many women in our region are going through a hard time, and they need all the help and support they can get.”
To date, six virtual WA Fashions on the Field heats have taken place. The virtual competition’s final heat will take place from 27 July to 2 August, open to ladies within the Gascoyne region.
The winners of the heats are shortlisted for the WA Fashions on the Field Final, with the chance to score a major prize including a trip for two to London to attend the 2021 Royal Ascot, $10,000 in spending money and a $5,000 Linneys voucher.
The winner of each ‘iso heat’ will also receive $750 cash, along with a $500 donation to a local charity of their choice from Primary Sponsor of the event, Community TAB.
The Final in November 2020 will comprise of a top 12, with ten to be selected by a RWWA judging panel and the other two determined by a public vote.
