The RWWA Integrity Assurance Committee (IAC) advised on 25 November 2015 that it had determined to accept an application for provisional re-registration of the AHRC and review such registration after the completion of two race meetings.
Such review was directed towards ensuring that the new committee of the Club was operating the AHRC in such a manner that fosters the development, promotes the welfare and ensures the integrity of harness racing in Albany.
hat also included demonstrating an ability to ensure that contemporary standards of procedural fairness are employed with the engagement of all stake holders.
The IAC has received a report from RWWA management referring to various aspects of the Club’s operations which has not identified any areas of concern that would incline the IAC to revoke the registration. Correspondence from stakeholders, including RWWA Stewards, RWWA management and other persons from the region was considered by the IAC. This included correspondence from the President of the AHRC which outlined the considerable work undertaken by the committee and efforts made to reflect the Clubs ability to meet expectations as outlined. It was evident that the race meetings conducted have been well supported by the stakeholders with no significant concerns arising that would invite the IAC to cancel the registration.
In considering all matters the IAC did not identify any reason to interfere with the Clubs registration and accordingly determined to confirm registration.
Such registration remains valid until 31 July 2016 with any future applications to be considered in accordance with the standard criteria’s and after a review and audit of the Club’s operations, financial systems and governance procedures by RWWA.
The IAC has taken this decision in view of all the materials and in the best interests of the stakeholders within the region and expects that the new committee will continue to conduct the affairs of the Club with equity, good conscience and the best interests of the local community and participants.
