Inters The Ideal Task For Agent
Exciting pacer Ideal Agent could head to Melbourne for the Inter Dominion later this year, as he continues his rise through the classes in Western Australia.
The five-year-old has notched up nine wins and four placings from 14 starts in the state, the most recent of those a tough win sitting outside another talented pacer Typhoon Banner.
Ideal Agent joined the Greg and Skye Bond stable in the second half of 2021 and has already scored wins in the Easter Cup and a Nights Of Thunder heat, as well as placings in the Nights Of Thunder Final and the four and five-year-old Championship.
His recent run of form has prompted the Bond team to think about a shot at the time-honoured Inter Dominion, alongside Fremantle Cup winner Minstrel.
Greg Bond said Ideal Agent was shaping up as the next Free-For-All star for the stable.
“We think he’s in that good FFA range,” Bond told TABradio.
“He’s a Patronus Star type of horse in our opinion.
“We haven’t discounted maybe him and Minstrel going to Melbourne for the Inters if everything pans out as we want.
“There’s a bit of water to flow under the bridge between now and then but that’s a bit of a chat Skye and I had about where we might head.”
Bond said the son of American Ideal would line up at Gloucester Park next Friday night and then have a short break.
Meanwhile, Noted will represent the Bond stable in tonight’s $50,000 Team Bond three-year-old Pearl Classic (2130m) at Gloucester Park.
Noted finished third in his heat behind Hoppys Way and will start from barrier 11.
Bond said Noted was deserving of a spot in the Group 2 event and could surprise despite the $81 quote with TABtouch.
“He’s not the worst,” Bond said.
“We’ve got a nice trailing draw and he’s probably not without a top five chance.
“If he caused an upset, I wouldn’t be 100 per cent surprised.”
