Jack Gets The Nod Over Bull
Star driver Gary Hall Jnr has made the tough decision to drive Jumpingjackmac over former Pacing Cup champion Chicago Bull in tomorrow night’s Members Pace (2130m) at Gloucester Park.
Jumpingjackmac returned a winner in Free-For-All company at Gloucester Park last month before a brave second to Double Up earlier this month.
The four-year-old has drawn barrier one in tomorrow night’s $30,000 event, while Chicago Bull has drawn the outside barrier six horse field.
Hall Jnr said while it would be hard driving against Chicago Bull.
“Jack is a horse that’s coming along pretty nicely this time in,” he told TABradio.
“Being first-up for Bully, he’s definitely going to need it.
“At the end of the day, you have to treat it like work.
“I don’t like seeing anyone jump on Bully.”
The last time Hall Jnr drove against Chicago Bull was in the 2016 Village Kid Sprint, when he steered Beaudiene Boaz to victory.
As well as having to beat Chicago Bull, the Gary Hall Snr-trained Jumpingjackmac will have to overcome Magnificent Storm, who made a victorious return to racing last week.
Jumpingjackmac is a $1.65 favourite with TABtouch, ahead of Magnificent Storm ($2.45) and Diego ($7).
Hall Jnr said he expected Jumpingjackmac to make a powerful statement tomorrow night.
“I think Jack is going to be pretty hard to beat,” he said.
“He’s usually pretty good off the arm.
“He can come out hard, probably under the stick, and he will settle.
“He just needs the racing at this level.
“I think he’s the best horse in our stable moving forward and I hope everyone gets to see that.”
Hall Jnr also looks set to take out the other feature event on the Gloucester Park card with the Justin Prentice-trained Platinum Sparkle, who is having her third start in the state as a $1.26 TABtouch favourite in The Lombardo (2130m).
