McNaught Maintains Runaway Rising Star Lead
15 April, 2019
Thoroughbred
Apprentice Jade McNaught has maintained her runaway lead in the Rising Star Series.
The talented young rider has never been headed since the series commenced on April 4.
She opened with a double at Geraldton and followed up with more wins at Ascot, Bunbury and Albany.
McNaught posted her eighth Rising Star victory at Sunday’s Geraldton Cup meeting, kicking home Flying Galah for local trainer, Tony Scally.
The mature-aged rider is well clear of her next rival, Mauritian-born apprentice, Brandon Louis.
Each apprentice earns points according to their claim at respective meetings and additional points for placings.
The Rising Star Series concludes at Northam on May 5.
