Mid West ‘Iso Heat’ Winner Crowned
Greenough local Piper Jackson has been named the winner of WA Fashions on the Field’s virtual Mid West heat, earning herself a nomination to the prestigious final at Ascot later this year.
After being prompted by her mum to enter the competition, after years of watching from the sidelines, Ms Jackson decided the virtual competition was the perfect opportunity to give it a go.
“I got inspired to create this look after going through some pattern books, and I asked my mum if she would be able to make the dress for me,” Ms Jackson said.
“I have a lot of fun wearing something I wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to wear, and I really like the 1950’s style, tulle and statement sleeves, so I knew I had to work that into my outfit somehow.”
“This outfit was my first entry, and my first design, but I think I have the bug now.”
Although it was her first fashion entry, Ms Jackson is no stranger to the racing industry.
“My grandfather is an owner and a breeder, and my mum has a thoroughbred agistment property which I have always helped out with,” Ms Jackson said.
Along with a $750 cash prize, Ms Jackson also received a $500 donation from Community TAB to give to a local charity of her choice.
“I have selected to donate the $500 to Midwest Charity Begins At Home. They are an amazing organisation helping people in the Mid West who are finding life a struggle due to serious illness.”
From May to August, the following virtual WA Fashions on the Field heats will take place, which will be open to ladies living within each respective region:

The winner of each ‘iso heat’ will also receive $750 cash, along with a $500 donation to a local charity of their choice from Primary Sponsor of the event, Community TAB.
