Moora Race Club and Community TAB to fundraise for local St John Ambulance
Moora Race Club and Community TAB have joined forces to raise funds for Moora St John Ambulance at the annual Moora Cup on Saturday 10 October.
Moora Race Club Secretary Annalise Duschka said the program offers community groups a substantial bonus.
“The Moora Race Club is honoured to partner with Community TAB and provide some well-deserved funds to one of the hard-working community groups that work tirelessly with the Moora Race Club to bring our race day to life,” Ms Duschka said.
“The Moora Cup is a pinnacle event in our community calendar and is a great family day out, attended by many local families and even families from Perth who make the trip to Moora to take part in the festivities. We pride ourselves on putting on a great day that leaves people looking forward to next year!”
“This year our chosen community partner is the Moora St John Ambulance Sub Centre who are a volunteer-based ambulance service providing emergency care to people when they need it the most.”
Community TAB will be matching funds raised on the day up to $2,000.
RWWA Chairman Jeff Ovens said the positive effects of the Community TAB program have been extensive for regional WA, with 49 of WA’s race clubs based in regional communities.
“RWWA recognises that race clubs across WA play an important role in their community, contributing both economically and socially, with partnerships like these an example of the strong connection race clubs have within the communities in which they operate,” Mr Ovens said.
“Community TAB is proud to play our part in giving back to the community, and our donation to Moora St John Ambulance is just one of more than 50 community organisations that will be supported as part of the program.”
The Community TAB dollar matching program has been in effect from early 2015 and has since raised over $600,000 for not-for-profit organisations around WA through partnerships with local race clubs.
