Prizemoney Increase for 2021 Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy
Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) and Magic Millions have together funded a $50,000 increase in prizemoney for the next running of the Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy, bringing the total prizemoney for the race to $200,000.
The increase cements the Magic Millions Raceday, to be held at Pinjarra Park on Saturday 6 February 2021, as the richest regional race meeting in Western Australia.
As well as the Magic Millions 3YO Trophy, the raceday also features the $250,000 Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic, providing $450,000 in exclusive prizemoney available across the two races.
In addition, the day again includes the Magic Millions WA Racing Women’s Bonus, with $75,000 to be shared between the first three all-female owned or leased horses in finishing order in the 2YO Classic.
RWWA will again pay additional Westspeed bonuses to winning and placed Westspeed Platinum horses at the race meeting to highlight the WA breeding industry. In 2020, an extra $250,000 in one-off Westspeed bonuses was distributed to connections from the day, leading into the Magic Millions Perth yearling sale.
RWWA Manager Commercial Racing and Planning David Hunter the local breeding industry is a critical part of the Western Australian thoroughbred racing industry.
“RWWA is pleased to continue to work with both Magic Millions and Pinjarra Race Club on increasing prize money at this metropolitan class fixture,” Mr Hunter said.
“The additional Westspeed Platinum bonuses paid to connections at last years Magic Millions race meeting were extremely well received and we are excited to continue this initiative again in 2021.”
The total prizemoney and bonuses on offer for the race meeting in 2021 will exceed $1.1 million.
Both the Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic and the Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy are recognised with Restricted Listed black type due to the consistent high quality fields and winners to have contested past runnings of these races, including the likes of Gemma’s Son, Valour Road, Lucy Mae, The River, Lucky Street, Night War, Playing God and Camporella.
Pinjarra Park’s season commences on 6 December 2020 and the Club will host 23 race meetings at the course throughout the season.
